Luminator Technology Group’s Axion Technologies Business Realignment Announced

Plano, TX – The Luminator Technology Group global rail business is comprised of six World Class Brands. Our FOCON, Axion, Luminator, Lawo, VSN and Apollo Video Technology products provide Best-in-Class Passenger Information and Mobile Surveillance Solutions to Global Rail OEM’s and Transit Authorities worldwide. As we grow our rail business, we are making some structural changes to the organization. The company is expanding our product offering in Rail providing tighter integration between Mobile Video Surveillance and Passenger Information Systems. The solutions expansion will also include the leverage of our mSET and iCenter software solutions.

Additionally we are also re-aligning our manufacturing and assembly strategy to leverage the group capabilities. This realignment will have the following impacts:

Axion is moving their Plattsburgh NY assembly facility to a larger building. Assembly production in La Pocatière Canada will be moved to Plattsburgh, NY or Gdansk, Poland depending on the customer’s project location. The expansion of our assembly functions in Plattsburgh, NY and use of our recently expanded Gdansk facilities will eliminate the need for assembly in La Pocatière.

As part of our global strategic supplier program, our electronic circuit board manufacturing production at our subsidiary, Axion, located in Saint-Nicolas Canada facility, will be terminated. Sub-assembly will continue to be used in our global rail products and sourced with current or new Electronics Manufacturing providers. The transition to a new strategic supplier is expected to be completed by January 2019.

Axion as part of the LTG Global Rail business will continue to have ongoing operations in La Pocatière and Saint-Nicolas that are important to the group.

We sincerely appreciate the efforts of our people and hope that our notification and support will be helpful on this transition.
